Brewers' Gamel has tear in shoulder

Baseball Betting Lines

03/18/2010 - Phoenix, AZ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Milwaukee Brewers infielder Mat Gamel has been diagnosed with a muscle tear in his right shoulder and will be restricted from activity for the next six weeks.

The injury occurred in batting practice before the start of spring games. The 24-year-old third-base prospect attempted to play March 8 but had to leave early.

It's expected Gamel will start the season on the 15-day disabled list and likely will miss 8-to-9 weeks in total.

Gamel hit .242 in 61 games during his first real taste of big league action in 2009. He smacked five home runs and collected 20 runs batted in with a .338 on-base percentage. Gamel played twice in 2008 as a September call-up.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
